JUI-F Balochistan Defends Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Criticizes Political Opponents

Quetta: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Balochistan has strongly defended its chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, accusing political opponents of attempting to undermine his stature through what it described as propaganda and social media campaigns.

In a statement, the party’s provincial spokesperson Dilawar Khan Kakar said patriotism is demonstrated through commitment to the Constitution, democracy, national unity, and public service—not through slogans, certificates, or campaigns targeting political opponents.

The spokesperson maintained that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s decades-long political career reflects his commitment to constitutional rule, parliamentary democracy, and the stability of Pakistan. He said JUI-F has consistently supported national unity and constitutional processes during critical periods in the country’s history.

Referring to recent criticism of the JUI-F leader, Kakar alleged that certain political figures were trying to diminish Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s political standing despite what he described as the veteran politician’s extensive parliamentary experience and national contributions.

The statement also claimed that JUI-F has always prioritized national security over political differences and has supported the state during periods of national crisis. It added that the party has encouraged its supporters to pursue constitutional and democratic means rather than confrontation.

Addressing comments previously made by Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the armed forces, the spokesperson argued that his remarks had been taken out of context. He said the JUI-F chief’s intention was to emphasize the constitutional role of state institutions rather than criticize them.

Kakar further stated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has played an important role in keeping religious political workers engaged in constitutional and parliamentary politics, particularly during periods marked by regional conflict and extremism.

The spokesperson concluded by urging political rivals to maintain respectful political discourse, arguing that differences of opinion should be expressed within constitutional and democratic norms rather than through personal attacks or attempts to question political opponents’ patriotism.
