Jeddah Hosts Mango Festival, Chaunsa, Sindhri and Anwar Ratol Draw Strong Buyer Interest

JEDDAH: A Mango Festival was held in Jeddah with the support of the Pakistani Consulate, showcasing Pakistan’s world-famous mango varieties to consumers in Saudi Arabia.

Among the featured varieties, Chaunsa, Sindhri, and Anwar Ratol attracted significant attention from buyers due to their exceptional taste and quality.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah, Mustafa Rabbani, said that Pakistan had exported more than 7,000 tons of mangoes to Saudi Arabia in previous years. However, due to climate change and regional challenges, Pakistan’s total mango export earnings this year are expected to remain between US$70 million and US$80 million.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Minister of Trade at the Pakistani Embassy, said it was encouraging to see Pakistani mangoes gaining a stronger foothold in the Saudi market. She added that the growing demand for Pakistani mangoes would help increase the country’s foreign exchange earnings and further strengthen bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
