At Least 27 Killed in Bangkok Bar Fire, Investigation Underway

Bangkok:At least **27 people** were killed after a fire broke out at a bar in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, on Sunday night, authorities said.
According to reports, Thai Prime Minister **Anutin Charnvirakul** confirmed the death toll while speaking to the media at the scene. He said the bodies of 27 victims had been recovered, while several injured people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment and evaluation.
The prime minister said musicians performing at the bar and restaurant, located on the outskirts of Bangkok, reported seeing smoke coming from a circuit breaker near the stage. Moments later, the electricity went out, followed by an explosion.
He added that many people, panicked by the fire, ran toward restrooms at the rear of the building that reportedly had no exit, contributing to the high number of fatalities. Preliminary information also indicated that thick smoke spread rapidly throughout the premises.
Thai police said in a statement on social media that the fire had been brought under control. Authorities have secured the area and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
