Quetta: A joint counterterrorism operation, Operation Shaban, being conducted by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and Balochistan Police, is continuing across the province, with security forces carrying out coordinated actions against militants, according to security sources.

Security officials said that nine more militants, described by the authorities as members of Fitna al-Khawarij, were killed during the latest operations. The militants were reportedly targeted through coordinated ground and aerial operations in remote mountainous areas where they had been hiding.

According to security sources, the total number of militants killed since the launch of Operation Shaban has now reached 52. They added that since July 5, a combined total of 88 militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across Balochistan.

Security officials said search and clearance operations are continuing in various parts of the province to eliminate remaining militant hideouts and strengthen security in affected areas.

According to security sources, Operation Shaban will continue until militant networks operating in Balochistan are dismantled, with security forces pledging to maintain operations until their objectives are achieved.
