Fawad Chaudhry Criticizes PTI Leadership, Alliance with Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen

ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has criticized the current leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), alleging that the party has sidelined loyal members and formed an alliance with the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen, whose leadership, he claimed, stands alongside separatist elements.

Speaking to the media after appearing in court, Chaudhry said PTI’s current leadership had failed to take effective political action and had ignored those who made sacrifices for the party, including leaders and workers who faced imprisonment.

He also criticized PTI’s alliance with leaders such as Akhtar Mengal and Mahmood Khan Achakzai, alleging that they had never publicly condemned the killings of Punjabis in Balochistan. According to Chaudhry, it was unfortunate that a major federal political party had aligned itself with individuals whose views on the federation, he claimed, were well known.

Referring to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chaudhry said discussions about Khan’s release had taken a back seat, with his family now primarily appealing for access to medical treatment and meetings with doctors.

He further alleged that PTI’s decline began when loyal party members were overlooked in favor of leaders who, according to him, had no historical association with the party’s ideology. Chaudhry also criticized what he described as the “Buzdar model” introduced by Imran Khan, claiming it had caused significant damage to the party.

Chaudhry expressed hope that positive political developments would emerge later this week while reiterating his criticism of PTI’s current organizational and political direction.
