Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal Warns of Wider Protests if Government Fails to Hold Meaningful Talk
Quetta: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Secretary General Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal has warned that protests across Balochistan will be expanded if the government fails to engage in serious and meaningful negotiations over the demands of demonstrators.
Addressing a sit-in at Coal Phatak in Quetta organized by the families of those killed in the Ziarat incident, Ziaratwal said the current situation in the province had become increasingly unbearable and accused the government of not showing sufficient seriousness in resolving the crisis through dialogue.
He warned that if no progress is made, protest sit-ins would be launched in several districts from Chaman to Zhob. He also said that, if necessary, demonstrations would be extended to five additional locations in Quetta.
Ziaratwal stated that the future course of action would be announced after consultations with political parties and other stakeholders. He urged the government to pursue constructive negotiations to address the protesters’ concerns and prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
