Balochistan Apex Committee Reaffirms Commitment to Eliminate Terrorism and Strengthen Security

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that the Balochistan Apex Committee meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Quetta, marks a decisive step toward eliminating terrorism, establishing lasting peace, and ensuring a brighter future for the province.

According to the chief minister, the meeting brought together the country’s political and military leadership, which reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defeating terrorist groups, their facilitators, and all networks involved in activities against Pakistan.

Bugti said maintaining peace and security in Balochistan remains the provincial government’s top priority, with the federal government, the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence institutions working in close coordination. The meeting reviewed the overall security situation, counterterrorism strategy, intelligence coordination, border security, and ongoing operations against militants, while several key decisions were taken.

The chief minister said the prime minister had made it clear that the state would utilize all available resources to eradicate terrorism and restore peace in Balochistan. He added that the commitment reflects the resolve of the entire nation.

Praising the armed forces, Bugti said the Pakistan Army, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has demonstrated professionalism, courage, and sacrifice in the fight against terrorism. He also commended the contributions of the police, Levies, Frontier Corps, intelligence agencies, and other law enforcement personnel, paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The chief minister emphasized that terrorism and extremism threaten Balochistan’s development, investment, education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and the progress of Gwadar. He vowed that the government would continue taking action against terrorists and their supporters in accordance with the law, while accelerating development and ensuring lasting peace across the province.
