Hazara Democratic Party Condemns Killing of Police Personnel in Ziarat, Joins Protest in Solidarity with Victims
Quetta: The Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) has strongly condemned the killing of police personnel who were abducted during the recent Ziarat incident, describing the tragedy as a failure of state institutions to ensure public security and protect law enforcement officials.
In a statement, the party said armed attackers displayed extreme brutality by killing several police personnel after abducting them during the attack. It said the incident reflected serious shortcomings in the performance of law enforcement and security agencies.
A delegation led by HDP Vice Chairman Mirza Hussain Hazara visited the protest sit-in organized by the affected families from Hanna Urak and Ziarat at B.A. Mall to express solidarity. The delegation offered condolences, prayed for the victims, and stressed that it is the responsibility of state institutions to ensure justice for the bereaved families.
The party blamed the provincial government for failing to maintain law and order across Balochistan, arguing that the absence of genuine public representation has contributed to the worsening security situation. It also urged the people of Quetta to remain united and vigilant against elements seeking to create division.
HDP leaders assured the protesters of their full support and called for immediate, effective, and visible action against those responsible for the attack.
In a separate visit, another HDP delegation led by Secretary General Ahmad Ali Kohzad attended a condolence gathering and protest demonstration. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Secretary General Ismat Yari condemned the deteriorating law and order situation on Balochistan’s highways, in Quetta’s outskirts, and across several districts. He reiterated the party’s solidarity with the victims of the Ziarat tragedy and pledged the Hazara community’s continued support for the affected families.
