Veteran Actor Waseem Abbas Confirms Divorce from Saba Hameed After 29-Year Marriage

Lahore: Veteran Pakistani actor Waseem Abbas has confirmed his divorce from fellow actress Saba Hameed, revealing that the couple had been living separately for several years before their 29-year marriage was legally dissolved.

Long regarded as one of Pakistan’s most admired celebrity couples, Waseem Abbas and Saba Hameed were known for their successful careers and on-screen chemistry. However, the actor has now disclosed that they had quietly parted ways years ago.

Speaking in a recent interview, Waseem Abbas said his marriage to Saba Hameed, his second marriage, lasted for 29 years, adding that they had been living separately for the past 14 years.

Despite their separation, he said they continued to work together professionally and maintained a cordial relationship. He added that they occasionally met as friends and even went out for meals together.

The actor said he would have no hesitation in working with Saba Hameed again if offered a project, emphasizing that there is no bitterness or resentment between them.

Reflecting on the divorce, Waseem Abbas said he did not feel saddened by the end of the marriage because the emotional bond between them had already faded. He also noted that the couple did not have any children together.

He further said he continues to share warm relations with Saba Hameed’s family and has always valued mutual respect over love. According to him, ending the marriage was the right decision.

Waseem Abbas stressed that neither he nor Saba Hameed ever spoke negatively about each other in public or in the media, maintaining dignity throughout their separation.

Discussing his second marriage, he said he would not describe it as a major mistake because it felt like the right decision at the time. However, looking back now, he believes it may have been a mistake and said he has no regrets about the marriage ending.

The veteran actor also ruled out marrying again, saying he has no plans for a third marriage. He explained that he is now a grandfather, his children are part of his life, and his first wife still lives in the same house, making another marriage unnecessary in his view.

Following Waseem Abbas’s revelation, the news has sparked discussion across Pakistan’s entertainment industry and on social media, where many fans have praised both actors for handling their separation with dignity and mutual respect. Saba Hameed has not yet publicly commented on the matter.
