Bilawal Bhutto Says Pakistan Will Not Compromise on Indus Waters Treaty
Islamabad: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the **Pakistan Peoples Party> (PPP), has declared that Pakistan will not compromise on the Indus Waters Treaty, while issuing strong remarks directed at India.
Addressing supporters, Bilawal said Pakistan would defend the Indus River and, if necessary, would fight to protect its water rights.
Addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bilawal said, “Listen, Narendra Modi, we will not compromise on the Indus Waters Treaty.”
He further alleged that he was aware of what he described as India’s plans involving Afghanistan and accused New Delhi of pursuing a conspiracy against Pakistan.
The PPP chairman also claimed that India had not accepted what he described as its defeat on the battlefield and alleged that it was now attempting to influence people through other means.
Commenting on regional developments, Bilawal congratulated the people of Iran for what he described as defeating Israeli military efforts and said Iranian citizens had foiled what he called an Israeli conspiracy.
The remarks reflect Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s political views and allegations. Indian authorities have not responded to the statements cited above.
