JUI-F’s Maulana Abdul Wase Criticizes Security Situation in Ziarat, Says District Has Become a Victim of Mismanagement
QUETTA: Senior leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), led by Maulana Abdul Wase, expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Ziarat District, saying the district, once regarded as a symbol of peace and tourism, has fallen victim to mismanagement and administrative failure.
The remarks were made during the annual graduation and Qur’an memorization turban ceremony held at Jamia Darul Uloom Bahrul Uloom in Ziarat. The event was attended by provincial JUI leaders, religious scholars, students, and a large number of supporters from Ziarat and neighboring districts.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Abdul Wase said that Ziarat was once known across Pakistan for its peaceful environment and tourist attractions, but the security situation has deteriorated to the extent that even local residents are unable to travel safely to their homes, farms, and villages. He described the situation as evidence of the government’s failure to ensure public safety.
He also contrasted JUI-F’s past tenure in government with the current administration, stating that his party’s leadership has historically been recognized for integrity, simplicity, and public service rather than the pursuit of power. He claimed that Ziarat, once associated with development and prosperity, now reflects poor governance and administrative shortcomings.
Highlighting the role of religious seminaries, Maulana Abdul Wase described madaris as important institutions for Islamic education, moral guidance, and character-building. He praised Jamia Bahrul Uloom for producing thousands of Islamic scholars and Huffaz who continue to serve Islam and society.
During the conference, he congratulated Muhammad Taqi Usmani on his unopposed election as president of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan, along with Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari on his re-election as secretary-general, expressing confidence that their leadership would further strengthen the country’s religious education system.
Other JUI leaders, including Agha Mahmood Shah, Sarwar Nadeem, and Dilawar Khan Kakar, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of religious seminaries and reaffirming the party’s commitment to protecting and supporting Islamic educational institutions.
The conference concluded with the graduation ceremony for religious scholars and Huffaz, followed by special prayers for peace and stability in Pakistan, prosperity in Balochistan, the development of religious seminaries, unity among Muslims, and the well-being of oppressed Muslim communities worldwide.
