Election Commission Announces Schedule for By-Elections on Vacant Local Government Seats in Gwadar

Gwadar: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for by-elections to fill vacant local government seats in the Gwadar Municipal Committee and affiliated union councils.

According to an official notification, candidates may submit their nomination papers from July 1 to July 3, 2026, for Ward Nos. 20 and 21 of the Gwadar Municipal Committee, Ward No. 4 of Union Council No. 3, and Ward No. 5 of Union Council No. 10.

The ECP said the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from July 6 to July 8, 2026, while candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nomination papers until July 18, 2026.

Polling for the vacant seats is scheduled to be held on August 9, 2026.

The commission further stated that nomination papers can be submitted to the Returning Officer, Gwadar, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily until July 3, 2026.
