Russia Urges Pakistan and Afghanistan to Resolve Tensions Through Diplomacy

Moscow:Russia has called on Pakistan and Afghanistan to de-escalate their ongoing tensions and resolve their differences through political and diplomatic channels.

In a statement, the **Russian Foreign Ministry** urged both countries to end any armed confrontation and address disputed issues through dialogue rather than military means.

The appeal comes after Pakistan announced that its security forces had intercepted and shot down **four drones** allegedly launched from Afghan territory.

According to Pakistan’s military media wing, the **Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)**, the drones crossed into **Balochistan** on **June 30**. The ISPR said Pakistan’s air defense system detected the drones immediately and successfully neutralized all four using counter-drone measures.

The military further stated that the security forces demonstrated a high level of operational readiness and thwarted what it described as hostile intentions.

There has been no immediate response from the Afghan authorities to Pakistan’s allegations. Russia’s statement underscores the need for both neighboring countries to avoid further escalation and pursue a peaceful resolution through diplomatic engagement.
