Nabeel Gabol Claims Lyari Players Could Represent Pakistan at the Next FIFA World Cup

Karachi: Member of the National Assembly from Lyari, Nabeel Gabol, has made another ambitious claim, expressing hope that players from Lyari will represent Pakistan at the next FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to Express News during a knockout match between Brazil and Japan at Lyari International Football Stadium, Gabol said Lyari is home to exceptional football talent and that its residents have a deep passion for the sport. He noted that the stadium was packed with enthusiastic fans, while a large number of spectators remained outside due to limited seating capacity.

According to Gabol, 12 footballers from Lyari have been selected for overseas training. He said the players will be groomed to join Pakistan’s national football team and eventually represent the country in international competitions.

Gabol added that the initiative aims to nurture local talent and provide young footballers from Lyari with opportunities to compete at the highest level.

Earlier, Gabol had also stated that he believes Lyari could one day host FIFA World Cup matches in the future.
