Sher Afzal Marwat Questions Impunity for Aleema Khan’s Son While Hassan Niazi Remains in Jail

Lahore: Senior PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat has raised serious concerns over what he terms as “selective justice” within the party and legal system, questioning why Hassan Niazi remains imprisoned over the “trouser-waving” incident while Aleema Khan’s son, who was also allegedly involved, walks free.
Speaking on a private TV channel, Marwat alleged that Aleema Khan is actively trying to discredit and create suspicion around every key member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He further claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan has deliberately distanced himself from Aleema Khan and had explicitly asked party members to block her from contacting him.
Marwat disclosed that Aleema Khan’s son, Shershah, handed the trousers to Hassan Niazi in the viral video that led to the latter’s arrest. He added that Shershah was named in the Corps Commander House attack case, fled the country in May 2023, and reportedly made deals with a senior military official. Despite being implicated, Shershah returned to Pakistan and continues to move freely without facing arrest, unlike others still in custody.
He also claimed that Aleema Khan’s influence helped clear her son’s name, contrasting it with the fate of Hassan Niazi, who remains behind bars. Marwat accused Aleema of negotiating with powerful institutions to secure favorable outcomes for her family.
Marwat didn’t stop there. He accused Aleema Khan of attempting to undermine all prominent PTI figures, saying, “There’s not a single leader she hasn’t tried to blackmail or discredit.” He further alleged that she purchased a property worth Rs 250 million in New Jersey in 2004 with an unknown source of income and later deprived her business partner, Samina Sultan, of her rightful share, which led to legal proceedings.
Recounting a meeting on April 4, 2024, Marwat claimed Aleema pressured him to choose between her and Bushra Bibi, former First Lady and wife of Imran Khan. “I told her I stand with Imran Khan, not anyone else,” he said. This disagreement allegedly led to Marwat being removed as PTI’s spokesperson on April 11 and sidelined ever since.
He concluded by stating that Aleema Khan’s agenda is to dismantle the party from within and that Imran Khan has completely cut ties with her. “It was Khan sahib himself who told us to block Aleema Bibi,” Marwat asserted.
These explosive claims have stirred fresh controversy within the embattled PTI, further exposing internal rifts at a time when the party is already under immense external pressure.
