Karachi Police Arrest Alleged Mastermind Behind Plot to Kill Sub-Inspector

Karachi: Karachi Police have arrested a wanted suspect accused of planning the targeted killing of a police sub-inspector during a targeted operation in the SITE-A area of Keamari district.

According to a Keamari Police spokesperson, the suspect, identified as Faisal alias “Manager,” was apprehended in the Haider Chali Pathan Colony area within the jurisdiction of SITE-A Police Station. However, his alleged accomplice, Sajjad, managed to escape during the operation.

Police recovered an illegal pistol and ammunition from the suspect’s possession.

Authorities said the operation was launched following intelligence indicating that Faisal was planning to target Sub-Inspector Naeem Shah, who is posted at SITE-A Police Station.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly sought revenge after his nephew, Kashif, and Kashif’s associate, Zeeshan, were killed in a police encounter on August 9, 2025, on Manghopir’s Wilika Road in Karachi’s SITE Area.

During initial interrogation, Faisal reportedly confessed to his involvement in a robbery carried out two days earlier, in which he and an accomplice allegedly robbed two individuals on Wilika Road and opened fire before fleeing when the victims resisted. Police said the incident was registered under FIR No. 263/26 at SITE-A Police Station under sections 394, 511, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Police described the arrested suspect as a habitual offender with an extensive criminal record. According to officials, 14 criminal cases have been registered against him at various police stations, including Sir Syed, Gulberg, SITE-A, Orangi Town, Madina Colony, and Ittehad Town. The cases include charges related to armed robbery, illegal weapons possession, police encounters, and other serious offenses.

Keamari Police said the operation was conducted under the supervision of the SDPO SITE, with the SHO of SITE-A Police Station, the Metroville checkpoint in-charge, and a police team participating in the raid.

A separate case under the Sindh Arms Act has also been registered against the suspect under FIR No. 269/26, and further investigations are underway.
