Imran Khan’s Media Blocked Due to Reduced Political Pressure, Says Ali Amin Gandapur

Peshawar (News Desk) — Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has claimed that restrictions on media access, newspapers, and meetings of former Prime Minister Imran Khan are linked to a decline in political pressure for his release.

Speaking to the media, Gandapur said that efforts for Imran Khan’s release have weakened and that current measures being taken are not satisfactory. He remarked that “Imran Khan’s newspapers, TV coverage, and meetings are stopped because our pressure has reduced.”

He stressed the need for renewed street-level political movement to build pressure, adding that even dissenting party members share concerns over insufficient efforts for Khan’s release. Gandapur clarified that he has no opposition to Sohail Afridi, but insisted that actions for Imran Khan’s release must be strengthened.

He further alleged that cases against Imran Khan are fabricated and claimed that neither Khan’s family nor his lawyers are being allowed to meet him.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that although no formal negotiations with the government are currently underway, the party is close to sitting at the negotiation table.

Speaking outside Parliament House, he said PTI cannot be sidelined or excluded from the political process and emphasized the need for dialogue. He also urged authorities to allow meetings between Imran Khan, his family, and party leadership, saying that such interactions are essential for improving the political situation.

Barrister Gohar further reiterated that PTI seeks engagement rather than confrontation, and expressed hope that political dialogue could help ease tensions in the country.
