Fawad Chaudhry Calls for New Provinces in Sindh, Balochistan and KP, Rejects Seraiki Province Proposal

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that the creation of new provinces in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has become a necessity, but stressed that any future administrative divisions should not be based on ethnicity or language.

In a post on social media platform X, Chaudhry stated that before any provincial restructuring takes place, political parties should reach a consensus that provinces will be divided solely on administrative grounds. He emphasized that existing provincial names should not be changed and that no new province should be named after a particular ethnicity or language.

Fawad Chaudhry also argued that there is no room for the creation of a Seraiki province, claiming that Seraiki is a dialect of Punjabi. He further suggested that Dera Ismail Khan should be included in South Punjab, saying that the people of the area predominantly speak Punjabi-Seraiki.

According to Chaudhry, the process of creating new provinces should begin simultaneously across the country to ensure fairness and national consensus.
