No One Involved in Illegal Activities Will Be Spared, Says Talal Chaudhry

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry has vowed strict enforcement of the law, stating that no individual involved in illegal activities will receive preferential treatment, regardless of their influence or status.

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Chaudhry addressed the country’s political and security situation and criticized the opposition’s conduct. He emphasized that the government remains committed to upholding the rule of law and taking action against unlawful activities.

In his speech, the minister used strong language while referring to certain individuals, stating that whether someone is from Karachi or Lahore, anyone involved in wrongdoing or illegal business activities would be held accountable. He added that no one would be considered above the law in Pakistan.

Chaudhry also criticized members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that some PTI lawmakers publicly criticize Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during parliamentary proceedings but later seek meetings with him to resolve their issues.

Commenting on the use of bulletproof and smuggled vehicles in the country, the minister said the federal government has a clear policy regarding the authorization of bulletproof vehicles, which are only permitted under strict regulations. He stressed that such permissions are not granted to individuals who may misuse them.

He further called on provincial governments to cooperate with federal authorities in eliminating the use of smuggled and illegal vehicles operating across the country.

Addressing public convenience and security measures in the federal capital, Chaudhry announced that 50 percent of Islamabad’s security checkpoints had been permanently removed following public complaints and efforts to improve traffic flow and citizen mobility.

The minister reiterated that the government would continue implementing measures aimed at strengthening security while ensuring convenience for residents and visitors in the capital.
