Khushhal Kakar Calls for Protection of Pashtun Areas, Urges All Sides Not to Turn Region into a Battleground

Quetta: Pashtun nationalist leader Khushhal Khan Kakar has called for the protection of Pashtun regions and urged all parties to avoid turning Pashtun-populated areas into a battleground amid ongoing security and political challenges.

Addressing a public gathering held on the death anniversary of the late politician Usman Kakar, Khushhal Kakar said that his party would not promote hatred against anyone but would continue to advocate for the defense and rights of the Pashtun homeland stretching from Bolan to Chitral.

“We will not speak the language of hatred. We will defend our Pashtun homeland from Bolan to Chitral and will continue to raise our voice for the protection of our region, regardless of who agrees or disagrees,” he said.

Kakar appealed to all sides involved in ongoing conflicts and tensions to refrain from turning Pashtun areas into zones of confrontation and violence. He stressed that local populations should not be made to bear the consequences of broader disputes.

Addressing Baloch political leaders and parties, he said that Pashtun political forces had historically stood alongside their Baloch counterparts on important issues and would now seek their support during what he described as a difficult period for Pashtun communities.

“We will approach Baloch leaders and political parties and remind them that we stood with them in the past. Today, we are facing challenging circumstances, and we will ask them to stand with us on the issues confronting the Pashtun people,” Kakar stated.

The gathering was organized to commemorate the legacy of Usman Kakar, with speakers highlighting his political contributions and emphasizing the need for unity, peace, and cooperation among the people of Balochistan.
