10 Palestinians, Including Al Jazeera Cameraman, Killed in Gaza Amid Ongoing Israeli Airstrikes

Gaza (News Desk): At least 10 Palestinians, including Al Jazeera Mubasher cameraman Ahmed Weshah, have been killed since early morning in ongoing Israeli airstrikes across eastern and central Gaza, according to local and international media reports.

Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces carried out what they described as a “targeted strike” in the Bureij refugee camp, hitting a house and killing cameraman Ahmed Weshah along with two other individuals.

Weshah’s killing comes just two months after another reported targeted strike killed his brother and fellow journalist Muhammad Weshah.

The media network strongly condemned the killing, calling it a “heinous crime” and an attack on journalists. It urged the international community and legal institutions to take immediate and practical steps to hold those responsible accountable.

On the other hand, the Israeli military claimed that Ahmed Weshah was affiliated with the Hamas military wing and said the strike targeted a Hamas figure allegedly involved in transferring funds within Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, Ahmed Weshah is the 12th media worker from the network to be killed in Gaza since the start of the conflict in October 2023.

In total, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Saturday reportedly killed 10 people, including members of a single family, among them two children, as attacks in eastern and central Gaza continue despite reports of ongoing ceasefire violations.
