British Parliament Praises Pakistan’s Mediation Role in US-Iran Ceasefire Efforts

LONDON:Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran received praise in the British Parliament, where members of the House of Lords acknowledged Islamabad’s role in advancing ceasefire and peace initiatives.
Speaking in the upper chamber of Parliament, Lord Ahmad said he was confident that all members of the House, including government ministers, would recognize Pakistan’s significant contribution to the mediation process.
Meanwhile, Baroness Chapman of Darlington thanked Pakistan for helping bring the United States and Iran to a point where meaningful negotiations and diplomatic engagement became possible.
During the debate, Lord Barber urged the British government to formally congratulate Shehbaz Sharif on the achievement and to acknowledge his commitment and efforts toward establishing lasting peace in the region.
Baroness Chapman of Darlington also praised the Pakistani prime minister’s role, stating that Shehbaz Sharif had done an excellent job and deserved recognition and appreciation for his contribution to the peace process.
The remarks reflect growing international acknowledgment of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and its efforts to facilitate dialogue aimed at reducing tensions and promoting stability in the region.
