JD Vance Praises Pakistan’s Role in Facilitating US-Iran Talks

US Vice President JD Vance has praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, commending its leadership for contributing to ongoing peace efforts.
In an interview with Fox News, Vance acknowledged the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, crediting them for playing a key role in advancing negotiations.
“I want to give credit to Field Marshal Munir and Pakistan’s Prime Minister. They have been excellent hosts and highly capable leaders who helped facilitate communication between us and the Iranian leadership,” Vance said.
He noted that the United States and Iran had not engaged in serious high-level negotiations for a long time, adding that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts were instrumental in bringing both sides to the table.
The remarks highlight Islamabad’s growing role as a mediator in regional diplomacy, particularly at a time when international stakeholders are seeking a peaceful resolution to tensions between Washington and Tehran.
