Removal of Customs Check Posts on National Highways in Balochistan Begins, Traders and Transporters Welcome Move

Quetta (News Desk) Authorities in Balochistan have begun implementing measures to remove and reduce several customs check posts established along national highways, in a move welcomed by the transport and business community.

According to details, the decision comes in response to long-standing demands of transporters, traders, and mining operators. The process of dismantling multiple customs checkpoints has officially started under the directives of concerned high-level authorities.

The initiative aims to facilitate commercial activities, ensure timely delivery of goods, and address longstanding issues faced by the transport sector across the province. Officials stated that the step is intended to streamline logistics and reduce unnecessary delays in the movement of cargo vehicles.

Transporters and trade associations have praised the development, stating that the presence of multiple check posts on various highways had previously caused long waiting times for goods vehicles, increased transportation costs, and disrupted business operations.

Mining stakeholders also termed the decision a positive development, saying that easing transportation bottlenecks would accelerate mineral supply chains and contribute positively to the provincial economy.

They expressed hope that continued reforms in the sector would further improve trade efficiency and support economic growth in Balochistan.
