Thunderstorms, Dust Storms and Rainfall Expected Across Balochistan from June 16 to 20: Meteorological Department Issues Alert

Quetta (News Desk) The Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms, dust storms, strong winds, and rainfall in various parts of Balochistan from June 16 to 20, urging concerned authorities to remain on alert.
According to the department, a western weather system is expected to enter the upper parts of the country from June 16 and is likely to persist until June 20. Moist currents from the Arabian Sea will also penetrate upper and central regions, contributing to unstable weather conditions.
Under the influence of this system, dust storms, thunderstorms, and rainfall are expected in several areas of Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Sindh.
The Meteorological Department stated that northern and northeastern districts of Balochistan, including Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Kohlu, Nasirabad, Quetta, Qila Saifullah, Qila Abdullah, Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Dera Bugti, are likely to experience thunderstorms and rain during the period. Some areas may also witness heavy rainfall and hailstorms.
Authorities have warned that strong winds, hail, and lightning may damage weak structures, solar panels, electricity poles, and signboards.
Farmers have been advised to take precautionary measures for crop protection, while citizens, tourists, and travelers have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel. The Meteorological Department has also directed all relevant institutions to ensure preparedness for any emergency situation.
