Strong Condemnation of Killing on Quetta–Khuzdar Highway, Demand for Immediate Arrest of Killers

Quetta: Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has strongly condemned the killing of young Mohammad Waqar Khan Baloch by terrorists on the Quetta–Khuzdar Highway.

In a statement issued by the party’s provincial secretariat, it said that the ongoing lawlessness, killings, and bloodshed of innocent civilians on national highways reflect the clear failure of both the federal and provincial governments as well as security institutions.

According to the statement, the deceased Waqar Khan Baloch was travelling with his mother and family members to Karachi to take a patient for medical treatment when armed attackers targeted their vehicle, resulting in his death.

The party said the tragic incident exposes the alarming reality that life, property, and dignity of citizens are no longer safe in the province. It stressed that ensuring public safety is the primary responsibility of the state, government, and security forces, yet repeated incidents prove that citizens remain unprotected.

PkNAP further stated that despite thousands of checkpoints, security arrangements, and heavy budgets, the protection of citizens has not been ensured, and concerned authorities must be held accountable.

The statement added that after every such incident, only routine condemnation statements are issued while the actual perpetrators remain at large, which is an unacceptable and alarming situation.

The party demanded the immediate arrest of the killers of Waqar Khan Baloch, a transparent investigation into the incident, and accountability of any negligence on the part of security agencies.

At the end, the party expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the martyr’s elevated status in Jannah and patience for the family.
