Chakwal: 9-Year-Old Girl Killed by CCD Officer’s Bullet, Not Robbers — Police Sources

Islamabad (Kudrat Daily) — A new twist has emerged in the case of a 9-year-old girl who was killed during a robbery-related firing incident in Chakwal three days ago, with police sources stating that the child was allegedly hit by a bullet fired by a Crime Control Department (CCD) officer rather than by robbers.

According to police sources, an overseas-returned family from Australia came under fire during an incident involving both suspected robbers and law enforcement personnel. Initial reports had suggested that the girl was killed in crossfire with robbers.

Police officials confirmed that both main suspects involved in the robbery were killed during the encounter, while the CCD officer allegedly involved in the firing has been arrested.

A police spokesperson stated that special teams were formed to arrest the suspects and an encounter took place between police and the alleged robbers, resulting in the deaths of both criminals. However, the firing incident that led to the child’s death is now under separate investigation.

To ensure transparency, an inquiry committee has been formed under the supervision of the SP Investigation, while a high-level Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has also been constituted to examine all aspects of the case in detail.

Authorities have assured that strict legal action will be taken against the arrested officer if negligence or wrongdoing is proven.
