FBR Sets Rs15.26 Trillion Tax Target for Next Fiscal Year

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set a tax collection target of Rs15,264 billion for the upcoming fiscal year, according to official documents.

The new target is Rs2,281 billion higher than the revised target of the current fiscal year, which stands at Rs12,983 billion.

Under the proposed plan, direct tax collection is estimated at Rs7,613 billion. This includes an expected Rs7,480 billion from income tax. Additional projections include Rs26.58 billion from capital value tax, Rs22.31 billion from Workers Welfare Fund, and Rs83.58 billion from Workers Profit Participation Fund.

For indirect taxes, the FBR aims to collect Rs7,651 billion. This includes Rs4,092 billion from sales tax, Rs1,651 billion from customs duties, and Rs1,073 billion from federal excise duty.

Officials said the targets reflect broader revenue expectations for the upcoming fiscal year as the government continues efforts to expand the tax base and improve collection efficiency.
