Robbers Escape with Rs300 Million from Security Company Cash Van in Karachi

Islamabad (Kudrat News): Armed robbers reportedly fled with Rs300 million after looting a security company’s cash van in Karachi’s Federal B Area. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

Sindh Interior Minister has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the SSP Central.

According to police, the security company staff was transporting cash from Tariq Road to a private bank branch located in Joharabad when they stopped for tea. During this time, the robbery took place.

CCTV footage shows a black double-cabin vehicle stopping behind the parked cash van on the roadside. Four armed men step out of the vehicle—one enters the van from the driver’s side while the others enter from the rear. The suspects later flee the scene along with the cash van and their vehicle.

SSP Central Dr. Imran Khan said that initial investigations suggest that the security company’s chief crew member, Wajid, was involved in the incident. Police stated that Wajid allegedly obtained the keys to the cash compartment from the guards and facilitated access to the money before escaping with the suspects.

Police officials confirmed that Rs300 million was looted from the cash van. Following the incident, two guards and the driver have been taken into custody for further investigation.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage from inside the cash van has also emerged, showing supervisor Wajid calmly sitting with the suspects and handing over the safe keys.

Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has sought an immediate report from SSP Central regarding the incident.
