JUI-F Demands Special Development Package for Balochistan, Calls Budget Neglect Unfortunate

Quetta (Kudrat News): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Amir Senator Maulana Abdul Waseh and Provincial General Secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah, while reacting to the federal budget, have said that Balochistan requires an emergency and extraordinary special development package.

They said it is regrettable that during successive governments, no major mega development project has been initiated in Balochistan that could address public needs in economic uplift, infrastructure, employment, education, health, and communication sectors. They added that despite being rich in natural resources, the province continues to suffer from poverty, unemployment, underdevelopment, and lack of basic facilities, mainly due to continued federal neglect and unfair distribution of resources.

The leaders stated that JUI-F has always pursued a principled struggle for the constitutional, political, and economic rights of Balochistan and has rendered political sacrifices in this regard. They said they have never prioritized power over public interest and will continue to represent the marginalized sections of society.

They further said that the core issue of Balochistan is constitutional supremacy, right of self-determination, and people’s right to governance. They emphasized that the Constitution is a social contract between the state and its people, and its observance ensures national unity and federal stability.

Maulana Abdul Waseh and Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah said that Balochistan is currently facing political uncertainty, administrative disorder, and social unrest. They questioned how long the legitimate demands and economic deprivation of the province’s people would continue to be ignored.

They highlighted key issues including deprivation of voting rights and genuine political representation, non-local control over mineral resources, non-payment of provincial share in royalties, and worsening law and order situation.

They further stated that the recent public gathering in Pishin demonstrated the people’s collective political will on Balochistan’s rights, warning that ignoring such sentiments would be a serious political mistake. They stressed that provincial ownership of resources, provincial autonomy, fair distribution of resources, and restoration of peace are essential for a strong federation and national unity.
