Free Travel Facility Ended on Lahore Mass Transit System, Fares Reinstated Across Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab government has ended the free travel facility on all mass transit systems, restoring fares on public transport services including the Orange Line Train, Metro Bus, and Speedo Bus service.
According to In-charge Mass Transit Authority Azeem Shah, the decision has been implemented across all mass transit services operating in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
He confirmed that free travel concessions have been withdrawn and fares will now be charged from all passengers starting tomorrow.
With the new decision, passengers using public transport services in major cities of Punjab will once again be required to pay regular ticket fares.
Officials stated that the move applies uniformly across the province’s mass transit network and is aimed at standardizing fare collection systems.
Further details regarding revised fare structures or any subsidized categories have not yet been announced.
