Progress Reported in One Constitution Avenue Apartment Case Linked to PTI Founder

Islamabad: A new development has emerged in the legal proceedings related to the apartment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at One Constitution Avenue, Islamabad, as a fresh sub-lease holder and other parties have moved applications to join the case.
According to details, Shahid Naseer, the new sub-lease holder of the apartment in Tower C of the project, has filed an application in the Islamabad High Court seeking to become a party in the case. The application has been scheduled for hearing.
The petition states that Shahid Naseer has legally acquired the sub-lease of the apartment previously associated with Imran Khan. It further notes that Zainab Ahsan, daughter of senior lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan, has also submitted a separate application to become a party in the case.
The miscellaneous petition requests that five sub-lease holders of One Constitution Avenue be included as appellants in the intra-court appeal, arguing that they have already filed appeals to protect their legal rights as property owners.
The applicants maintain that they legally acquired apartments in the project and should therefore be granted permission to participate as parties in the ongoing proceedings.
The Islamabad High Court has scheduled the hearing of these applications for tomorrow before a division bench comprising Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Inam Amin Minhas.
It is noteworthy that the court has already granted a stay under third-party rights in the intra-court appeals, restraining the eviction of sub-lease apartment holders. Earlier, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had cancelled the lease of BNP for the construction of One Constitution Avenue, a decision later upheld as lawful by the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar.
