Administrative Hurdles Delay Release of Funds for Sindh Government Schools

KARACHI: A recent initiative by the Sindh provincial education minister to directly allocate financial resources to government schools for their improvement is facing administrative hurdles in the Finance Department and treasury offices.

The situation has raised concerns over the utilization of millions of rupees allocated for schools across the province.

According to sources, education department officials in various districts are being forced to make repeated visits to treasury branches. Despite submitting bills prepared in accordance with required documents and procedures, payments are reportedly not being processed.

Officials from several districts have complained that they have been unable to submit or clear their bills even after multiple days of effort, highlighting delays in the financial approval and disbursement process.

The delays have sparked questions about the efficient use of allocated development funds meant for improving the condition of government schools in Sindh.
