Trump Says He Helped Prevent Escalation of Israeli Military Action Against Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that he played a role in reducing the likelihood of Israeli military strikes against Iran.
Speaking to Israel’s Channel 12, Trump said that five regional countries had contacted him and urged him to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an effort to ease tensions.
According to Trump, he spoke directly with Netanyahu and made it clear that he did not want a new war and could not give a green light for military action.
The U.S. president further stated that he had warned Netanyahu that if Israel launched a war against Iran, it could find itself standing alone on the battlefield.
Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and international efforts to prevent a wider conflict in the Middle East.
