PTI MPA Approaches NCCIA Over Alleged Fake AI Videos and Online Harassment Case

BOREWALA: A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Syed Salman Shahid has approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), alleging that fake AI-generated videos and images were used to defame and harass him on social media.

According to the complaint, objectionable and fabricated content was shared on WhatsApp and Facebook groups, damaging his reputation and personal character. The application names two individuals while also including 25 unidentified persons in the case.

The MPA alleged that a coordinated campaign is being run against him on social media, causing severe mental stress and reputational damage. He further claimed that the controversial content circulating online was created using artificial intelligence tools.

He requested the NCCIA to conduct a thorough investigation and take immediate legal action against those involved, stating that the material being shared is false and fabricated.

Following the complaint, NCCIA Lahore initiated action and summoned two citizens to appear on June 8. Notices have also been issued directing them to appear at the Cyber Crime Reporting Centre in Lahore.

According to officials, the summons have been issued under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), with the individuals directed to appear at 11:00 AM on June 8 for further proceedings.
