Putin Says Russia Ready for Peaceful Deal With Ukraine, Urges Kyiv to Compromise

Islamabad (Kudrat News) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia is ready to reach a peaceful settlement with Ukraine and urged Kyiv to show willingness to compromise in order to achieve a negotiated agreement.

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin said that Russia remains prepared for a peaceful deal with Ukraine. Referring to remarks by Donald Trump about possible agreements, he stated that Russia is ready for negotiations and that Ukraine also needs to make compromises.

Putin claimed that Russian forces are continuing to advance in Ukraine and said that the Ukrainian military is facing a serious shortage of personnel. He further alleged that Ukraine is losing territory and that Russia has full control over the Luhansk region.

The Russian president stated that Russian forces recently captured an additional 2,440 square kilometers of territory in Ukraine. He also claimed that Ukraine is facing shortages of missiles and other weapons, adding that a peace agreement could still be reached while discussions over disputed regions continue.

Putin said that contacts between Russian and European intelligence services remain ongoing. He also highlighted Russia’s military cooperation with China, saying that the two countries have long cooperated in the defense sector and will continue to do so based on mutual interests.

Commenting on relations with India, Putin said that ties between Russia and India have never been hindered by India’s relations with the United States and that Moscow intends to further strengthen its partnership with New Delhi.

The Russian leader also said that Germany must decide on the future of gas supplies through the Nord Stream pipeline system, adding that Russia remains ready to supply natural gas to Germany.
