Rs1.5 Billion Proposed for Additional Family Housing Units for Parliamentarians in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:The federal government has proposed allocating Rs1.5 billion in the upcoming fiscal year budget for the construction of additional residential facilities for members of parliament and their families.

According to official documents, the project includes the construction of additional family suites for parliamentarians along with 500 servant quarters. The total estimated cost of the scheme is Rs7.4 billion.

The documents further indicate that an expenditure of Rs2.29 billion is projected on the project by June 30, 2026.

The proposed construction is planned in Sector G-5/2 of Islamabad. Work on 104 family suites adjacent to the existing Parliament Lodges is already underway, with finishing work currently in progress.

The proposal is expected to be reviewed as part of the federal budget for the next fiscal year.
