Storms and Rain Bring Relief from Heat Across Pakistan, Injure More Than 20 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

ISLAMABAD:** Strong winds, thunderstorms, and rainfall swept across several cities in Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, providing relief from intense heat but also causing power outages and weather-related damage in multiple areas.

According to reports, more than 20 people were injured in various incidents triggered by strong winds and storms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rainfall was recorded in Tharparkar, while Sukkur experienced hailstorms. Dust storms caused disruption and damage in several Sindh cities, including Larkana, Hyderabad, Matiari, Hala, New Saeedabad, Shikarpur, and Kandhkot.

In Punjab, rain was reported in Islamabad, Lahore, Jhelum, Sargodha, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan, Chiniot, and several other districts, bringing much-needed relief from soaring temperatures.

Meanwhile, strong winds caused the collapse of a main electricity transmission tower in Lower Kurram. As a result, power supply was suspended in Parachinar, nearby areas, and villages located along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Authorities are assessing the damage and working to restore electricity in the affected regions.
