How Much Do Emirates Airline Pilots Earn? Salaries and Benefits Revealed

Islamabad (News Desk) — Emirates Airline, based in Dubai, has maintained its position in 2026 as one of the world’s most attractive and highest-paying carriers for pilots, according to recent reports.

Fresh estimates show that pilots working for Emirates Airline receive not only substantial salaries but also a wide range of additional benefits, making it a preferred employer for experienced pilots worldwide.

According to the report, first officers at Emirates earn between 420,000 and 620,000 UAE dirhams annually, which is approximately $114,000 to $169,000. Newly recruited pilots start at lower salary tiers, while experienced first officers operating long-haul aircraft such as the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 receive higher compensation.

Captains at Emirates are among the highest-paid pilots globally. In 2026, their annual earnings range from 900,000 to 1,450,000 dirhams, equivalent to roughly $245,000 to $395,000. Captains flying ultra-long-haul aircraft such as the Airbus A380 may earn even more due to additional allowances and duty pay.

One of the most notable advantages of working with Emirates is its tax-free salary structure, which significantly increases net income compared to many Western airlines.

In addition to salaries, pilots are provided with housing or accommodation allowances in Dubai, travel benefits, medical and insurance coverage, family travel concessions, education assistance for children, as well as hotel and meal expenses during international layovers.

Emirates currently operates one of the world’s largest wide-body fleets, including 116 Airbus A380s, 118 Boeing 777-300ERs, 10 Boeing 777-200LRs, and 19 Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The airline has also placed orders for 359 new aircraft, including Boeing 777-9, Boeing 777-8, Boeing 787, and Airbus A350 models.

To become a pilot at Emirates, strict requirements are in place. First officers must have at least 2,000 flying hours, while captains require more than 7,000 flying hours along with extensive command experience. International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) licenses, medical certification, and English proficiency are also mandatory.
