Missing U.S. Citizen Case in Karachi Takes New Turn After “Voluntary Departure” Claim

Karachi:** The mystery surrounding the disappearance of a U.S. citizen from Shah Faisal Colony has taken a new turn after police and the individual himself clarified that it was not an abduction case.

According to his statement, Zaid Munir said that he was not kidnapped and had instead travelled to Hyderabad of his own free will to get married. He added that he stayed at a hotel in Hyderabad during his visit.

Police officials stated that Munir went missing on May 25, and an abduction case was registered on May 27 after his disappearance was reported.

Authorities further confirmed that he was later taken into custody from a hotel in Hyderabad and shifted back to Karachi. Police have since handed him over to his relatives, while investigations into the circumstances of his disappearance are still ongoing.

Officials said the case, initially treated as a possible kidnapping, is now being reviewed in light of the new statements and findings.
