PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows Full Support for Democratic Process Ahead of Gilgit-Baltistan Elections

Islamabad (News Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth democratic process in Gilgit-Baltistan, praising Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his team for making comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming elections.

The prime minister met with Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi in Lahore, where both leaders held detailed discussions on the country’s overall law and order and security situation.

During the meeting, the interior minister briefed the prime minister on special security measures taken during Eid-ul-Adha to protect citizens and secure public places across the country.

Mohsin Naqvi also provided a detailed update on preparations being made by security agencies to ensure the peaceful, transparent, and well-organized conduct of the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections. He said a comprehensive security plan has been developed to maintain law and order and provide a safe environment for voters throughout the electoral process.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, law enforcement agencies, and security forces in maintaining peace and stability and safeguarding the public.

He also commended the interior minister and his team for their effective planning regarding election security in Gilgit-Baltistan and reiterated that the government would continue taking all necessary measures to support and strengthen the democratic process.
