Iran, Russia Condemn Deadly Terrorist Attack Near Quetta Railway Track

Iran strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a train near Quetta and stressed the need for greater cooperation and coordination to combat terrorist groups.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Esmaeil Baghaei, said Iran considers the fight against terrorism an international responsibility.

In his statement, Baghaei expressed solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan over the terrorist incident in Quetta and offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

Meanwhile, the Iranian and Russian embassies in Pakistan also strongly condemned the terrorist blast near Quetta Railway Station.

Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam said the planners, facilitators, and supporters of the “heinous act” possessed an anti-humanity mindset.

The Embassy of Russia in Pakistan expressed hope that the masterminds behind the attack would be identified and brought to justice.

According to police, at least 14 people, including three Frontier Corps personnel, were killed and several others injured in a powerful explosion near the railway track at Chaman Phatak in Quetta on Sunday.

Officials said the blast was so intense that it shattered windows of nearby buildings and damaged a train along with around 10 vehicles parked close to the site.
