Shooting Outside White House as Secret Service Engages Armed Suspect

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — A shooting incident outside the White House in Washington, D.C. has raised fresh security concerns in the U.S. capital after a man opened fire on Secret Service personnel.
According to American media reports, the incident took place near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, close to the White House, where an armed suspect suddenly fired shots at Secret Service agents.
Security personnel immediately responded and shot the attacker dead on the spot. Authorities identified the deceased as 21-year-old Nasir Best, a resident of the U.S. state of Maryland.
Initial reports suggest the suspect failed to enter the White House premises. At the time of the incident, former U.S. President Donald Trump was inside the White House and remained unharmed.
Following the shooting, the White House was placed under lockdown, and additional security forces were deployed in the surrounding area. Reports indicate that around 30 rounds were fired during the incident, prompting the deployment of snipers as a precautionary measure.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motive and background of the attack, while further details are awaited.
