US Senator Lindsey Graham Warns Iran Deal Could Pose Major Security Challenge for Israel

Washington: US Senator Lindsey Graham has warned that any agreement with Iran could create a major security challenge for Israel and increase Tehran’s influence in the Middle East.

In a statement posted on social media, Graham said that if a deal to end the conflict with Iran is based on the assumption that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian threats, and that Iran retains the ability to inflict serious damage on oil facilities, then Tehran would be viewed as a dominant regional power.

The Republican senator also expressed concern over Iran’s influence over the Strait of Hormuz and its capability to target Gulf countries, calling the situation dangerous for regional stability.

Graham stated that any agreement allowing Iran to maintain influence or effective control over the strategic waterway in the future could lead to sustained Iranian pressure and growing influence across the region.

His remarks come amid reports that the United States and Iran are moving closer to a possible agreement aimed at ending ongoing tensions and military confrontation.
