Trump Says US Awaiting Iran’s Response, Warns of Possible Further Action

US President Donald Trump has said that Washington will wait a few more days for Iran’s response and that no relief will be provided to Tehran until a deal is reached.

Speaking to the media, Trump said the United States needs a “clear and proper response” from Iran and claimed that Iranian officials in contact with the US are “reasonable people.” He also repeated his assertion that Iran is eager to reach an agreement.

At the same time, Trump warned that the US could launch further attacks if negotiations fail. He claimed Iran is facing severe economic difficulties and growing public anger, adding that the country wants a deal because of its worsening internal situation.

The US president further stated that Iran had suffered a “major defeat” and hinted that “more developments” could be seen in the coming days. Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said it would eventually be reopened, but added that he was in “no hurry” regarding a deal with Tehran.

Trump also revealed that he held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, describing the discussion as positive.

Commenting on Cuba, Trump said the country was in poor condition and stressed that the Cuban people need assistance.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that Iran has received new proposals from the United States and is currently reviewing them.

Baghaei also said that Mohsin Naqvi is in Iran to facilitate the exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington, adding that communication is continuing on the basis of Iran’s 14-point framework.
