Pakistan Railways Suspends Several Trains Amid Rising Fuel Costs

Islamabad: Pakistan Railways is facing operational difficulties due to rising petroleum prices, leading to the temporary suspension of several train services across different sections of the country.

Railway sources said the increase in fuel prices has significantly impacted train operations, prompting Pakistan Railways to suspend eight trains temporarily in an effort to reduce operational expenses.

According to sources, apart from higher fuel costs, the number of passengers on several routes had also declined, making operations financially unsustainable. As a result, authorities decided to temporarily halt certain train services to save fuel and operational costs.

The suspended trains include Bolan Mail, Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, Mehran Express, Chaman Passenger, Marvi Express, Saman Sarkar Express, Mohenjo Daro Express, and Ravi Express.

A railway spokesperson confirmed that the trains were suspended due to increasing operational expenditures and assured that services would be restored once conditions improve.
