Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Jolts Turkey–Syria Border Region, No Damage Reported

ANKARA/BEIRUT: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck the border region between Turkey and Syria, shaking surrounding areas and causing panic among residents, according to Arab media reports.

The tremors were felt across several border towns and nearby regions, prompting people to rush out of homes and buildings in fear.

Early reports indicate that no casualties or significant property damage have been reported so far following the quake.

The Turkey–Syria region has experienced powerful seismic activity in the past, including devastating earthquakes that previously caused widespread destruction and loss of life in both countries.
