Trump Signals Possible New Strike on Iran if No Deal Reached

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning regarding Iran, saying Tehran is “desperate” to reach an agreement and hinting that fresh military action could take place in the coming days if negotiations fail.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said Iran could face another attack within “two to three days,” possibly on Friday, Saturday, or early next week. He stated that Iran would have to face a “major setback” if no agreement is achieved.

The US president claimed he was “one hour away” from ordering an attack on Iran on Monday and said naval forces equipped with missiles and other weapons were prepared for deployment.

Trump emphasized that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, adding that Tehran still retains some retaliatory capability. He warned that if talks collapse, the United States may launch another strike against Iran in the near future.

He also accused Iran of using the Strait of Hormuz as a military pressure point for the past 47 years. During the media interaction, Trump further remarked that religion plays an important role in reducing crime within a country.

The statement has intensified concerns over rising tensions in the Middle East amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding Iran-US relations.
