Humanitarian service cannot be stopped: Sindh Governor reacts to Saad Edhi’s arrest

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has expressed deep concern and regret over the reported arrest of Saad Edhi in Israel during a humanitarian relief mission, saying that efforts to serve humanity cannot be halted.
In a statement, the governor said that Saad Edhi and his companions were carrying food, medicines, and other relief supplies for the oppressed people of Palestine. He termed the arrest of humanitarian workers an attempt to suppress the spirit of human kindness, which he said goes against international humanitarian values and laws.
He urged the international community to take immediate notice of the incident and ensure the safe release of the aid workers so that humanitarian assistance activities can continue without interruption.
Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that the people of Pakistan stand firmly with all individuals serving humanity, adding that every voice raised in support of the Palestinian people is, in essence, a voice for humanity itself.
He also highlighted that the Edhi Foundation and the Edhi family have always set an example of humanitarian service beyond religion, race, and ethnicity.
According to him, the journey of serving humanity cannot be stopped by obstacles; rather, such situations further strengthen the spirit of humanitarian work.
