Two women killed, 14 injured in deadly truck brake failure accident in Quetta
QUETTA (Kuwait News Desk) — Two women were killed and 14 others sustained serious injuries in a horrific road accident near the Jhangiabad Bypass in the jurisdiction of New Kuchlak police station, officials said on Monday.
According to police reports, the accident occurred when a speeding truck suffered a brake failure and lost control. The vehicle was carrying members of a nomadic family traveling from Kashmore when the incident took place on 18 May 2026.
Authorities said the truck first went out of control and then collided violently with a car on the road, causing severe damage and casualties.
Police and rescue teams immediately reached the scene after being alerted and shifted the deceased and injured passengers to a nearby hospital, where the wounded are receiving medical treatment.
Officials confirmed that the victims belonged to a nomadic family from Kashmore. Police have launched an initial investigation into the incident and started legal proceedings to determine further details and possible negligence.
